Trying Times

Trying Times

In trying times, you can still be both purposeful and stylish

Hello from the Inherit team! It would be quite the understatement to say the last few weeks have been some of the most turbulent in our lifetime for many of us.  We just wanted to check in with a few thoughts on how we’re getting through this wild time and, you can too, with the help of those who love and support you from afar.

Amid the chaos brought by the coronavirus pandemic to our country and communities, a lot of us have lately been forced to adjust to new ways of living and working. We assume like our team some of our readers are likely to be working from home or homeschooling their little ones for what might be the first time.

So, what are we doing to help get the most out of this time at home?

Remember: there’s an art to great home working!

If you have already been working from home for a few weeks, or all of a sudden a stay at home mom, the initial novelty you may have felt about not having to rush out of the house each morning and life slowing down a bit may be starting to fade. With no end currently in sight, how can we keep this unusual way of working fresh and motivating?

Well, it’s important to treat your time working from home like work! That means trying to continue  following the routines you associate with work, including setting your alarm, making that cup of coffee that gets you going in the morning, and actually getting dressed for the day!

We notice, it helps to  have structure to your day and/or week. All of a sudden, you have to be your own manager so, try to create the the hour-by-hour, day-by-day or week-by-week schedule that an actual manager would set for you! Or, if you are now in charge of making sure the kiddos get their school work done in the day, try simulating their classroom schedule by creating a routine at home for them.

Dress to feel productive with Inherit

Clothes can totally change your mood and outlook on the day– so don’t just get up and get dressed on the days you have a Zoom meeting, but try everyday. We’ve always greatly believed here at Inherit that a stylish you is a more confident you – but also that outward style should mirror inward sensibility. We get that if one of the perks of working from home is being comfy + cozy. Our modest clothing is perfect for accomplishing just that! You definitely don’t have to compromise comfort for style.

Options available in our online store right now range from our Floral Flutter Sleeve Top that goes beautifully with your favorite colored denim midi skirt, right through to the fuss-free Sota’ Navy 32 Crewneck Sweatshirt for those mid-day grocery trips, and our new exclusive design, the buttery soft Betsy Striped Floral Maxi Dress  perfect for any day, both in and out of quarantine.
