Restoring History, Stitching Together Community
Share
When we first opened Inherit Clothing Company in 2018, our dream was simple: to make modest, modern fashion accessible for women everywhere. We first opened up a warehouse and pop-up in my brother's rural shed!

A year later, we took our first big step toward that vision by renovating the former Cullen’s Home Center building in downtown Morris.
It became our first storefront and design space, and truly, the heartbeat of Inherit.

This fall, we had the joy of taking that vision even further. After three years of planning, prayer, and perseverance, we finalized the restoration of the 1889 building right next door, a space that once held multiple businesses, the First National Bank of Morris, later Citizens Bank, and most recently, Eul’s Hardware Hank.
What stands there now is both a preserved piece of our town’s history and a thriving hub for creativity, design, and community connection.
The project was a true labor of love. Every brick and beam tells a story, from the yellow bricks made with clay from the Pomme de Terre River to the soot we uncovered from the 1932 Morris Hotel fire next door. That soot inspired us to add a fireplace upstairs, a detail that brings warmth and character to the space. Through every challenge and discovery, we saw God’s hand at work.
We recently opened our doors for our community open house, and around 400 people came to celebrate with us! Seeing Main Street filled with laughter, conversation, and families exploring the building was one of the most special moments of this journey. We couldn’t do any of this without our customers and the incredible support of our town. Morris is an amazing place to live and work, and we’re just grateful to add to what already makes small-town Minnesota so special.
On the main floor we continue to create in the new design room. About 70% of what we sell is designed right here in Morris, from the first sketch to final sample. Our Inherit Label is now carried in over 500 stores globally, something we never could have imagined when we first started.
Our offerings now include modest women’s and teen clothing, shoes + accessories, thoughtful gifts, and a growing denim skirt and jean collection inspired by both customer demand and by my own daughters, who now wear women’s sizing. Everyone’s story convictions, coverage needs and style are unique, and that’s what we love most. Your Life, Your Style, Your Story. That’s what we’re here for, to provide those hard-to-find options that help women express who they are with confidence!
The upstairs Inherit Loft and outdoor Commons space are my favorite spaces in the building. They double as a photo studio and event venues, hosting everything from bridal showers, business meetings, family sessions to bridal parties, business pop-ups, and community gatherings. We’ve partnered with Prime Steakhouse and MN Magnolia as optional add-ons, allowing guests to host events from start to finish with catering, décor, and thoughtful touches that make every occasion feel personal and special. It’s truly become a place where faith, fashion, and fellowship meet, a reflection of what Inherit is all about. Check out more info here!
As I look around this building today, I see more than just walls and windows. I see God’s faithfulness. I see our team’s dedication. I see a community that believes in purpose, excellence, and working together to build something beautiful! So thankful!
This restoration isn’t just about our business, it’s about continuing a story that began more than a century ago. We are so grateful for the opportunity.
We’d love for you to experience it for yourself! Whether you’re planning a special event, browsing our latest collection, or simply looking for a cozy space to gather, The Loft and our downtown shop are open to you. Come visit, explore, and see how faith, fashion, and community come together, right here at Inherit!
